A Weak
The week glimmers anew. You’ll drink less, pay cards, exude grace.
Motivation’s your second language. But you’ve pinpointed
transgressions, drafted to-do lists.
Monday afternoon, credit cards demand payment. Not paying bears
disaster, as Dad’s proven.
But your payments feel defensive, devoid of fierce initiative.
Tuesday, you do light laundry, some dusting. Upstairs spaces need
vacuuming.
Wednesday, you vacuum, in between The Ranch and envying Sam
Elliott’s assiduousness.
More cards demand payment, with references to delinquency.
Thursday, you have a glass of Moscato. Dad’s favorite.
You’re easing into relaxation and then work.
One turns to four.
Next week must be different.
