The Pond’s Poem
The pond wanted me to
Write a
Poem about it
So I took a pen with black
Ink
And reflected for
Awhile
When my thoughts began
To ripple
As if a wind or a falling
Leaf settled
A turtle going under
Water
A frog jumping into it
They stirred my
Imagination
Like a stick pushing a log
Raft
My words set sail, for the
Depths of meaning.
A childhood memory so
Vividly written.
Forever dry on a sheet of
Paper.
