I smoke a cigarette on the back patio
of the sober living that has yet
to kick me out. I stare at a
new house mate who looks like
my father with his prison tattoos
and his grey mustache. But he
refuses to say good morning to me,
so I tell him he looks like my father,
but not nearly as handsome.
He pulls out his switchblade
and threatens to carve his rage
into my face and I yelp no daddy no!
