from The Grave Itself
AFTERLIFE
try to land on a flower
some creature called
a weed and unwanted
try to understand: “a policy
is the abstraction
of ‘good’ intentions”
move up a life
move back two lives
try not to think of how
a day half-consoled
kneels at the horizon.
