Kieran Wyatt
Beetle

I leave the 68 bus for town
to distract myself, to detach
and come to the train station,
the little building, the wall
by sainsbury’s, by God
would you look at that. A
Beetle, standing in the grass,
overgrown and still, the Be
etle is slightly stooped, like
an old woman, a grandma.
The station is empty. Apart
from me, there is no one.

Queen of Scots

we visited the castle today
where Mary,
Queen of Scots was executed
so I feel
less than cheerful as we
sit down to eat
he goes to the loo,
I’m left alone in our corner
In the Falcon Inn
my phone’s at 1%
I read the menu again
